250-mile journey to experience the trail and gather information from elected officials, business owners and trail users. They provided online commentary and spoke with communities and reporters along the way. Their journey not only helped shine a light on the work to be done, it provided information that we will use as we continue connecting trails along this beautiful and inspiring route.
Right now, our work involves determining the cost of the final connections needed as well as projecting the economic impact a completed trail will likely have on communities along the route. We are seeking grant funding to design and manufacture the signage along existing trail segments. We will "go live” with a Lake-to-Lake website to keep you up to date on the status of this trail, including where construction is happening and where you can find new segments to enjoy. We will also provide on the ground technical assistance in the areas of our biggest gaps to accelerate progress. Our goal is in sight! This 250+ mile trail is currently almost two-thirds complete.
